CELESTE // WHAT’S IN YOUR GLASS CAN BE FOUND IN THE STARS

The owners were looking to take Chicago’s nightlife scene by storm. They had found the perfect location, a Daniel Burnham building in River North. Now they just needed a concept. Other than its provenance, the narrow, four-story building was unremarkable. It was dwarfed by and sandwiched between its neighbors, which meant the only good view was straight up. In that, we found the idea: Celeste, a space inspired by the stars floating above its roof. Everything from the interior design to the graphic identity to the drinks specials was driven by the constellations. The only thing they didn’t execute: a rooftop telescope. Maybe next year…
